Avonside Group Sales & Marketing Director, Eddie Stanton, presented Charlie Oakes with a certificate of excellence for his progress within his apprenticeship with Ploughcroft and his progress at College.
Charlie is currently undertaking an apprenticeship with Ploughcroft and is a student at Leeds College of Building.
Charlie has recently achieved first place in his College’s regional competition and as a result, will be competing in the regional Skillbuild. Charlie’s tutor commented: “for a 2nd year to come this far and go to Skillbuild is a fantastic accomplishment” and “Charlie is on target to achieve his level 2 NVQ on time”.
Chris Hopkins, Divisional Director based at Ploughcroft, commented: “Out of all the apprentices Ploughcroft have had, Charlie is the best. He has matured beyond his years since joining Ploughcroft at 16 (Charlie is now 18). He is responsible for his actions keen to both learn and improve on them. Chris finished: “Charlie is a breath of fresh air”.
Charlie’s pursuit of excellence is not just confined to his apprenticeship commitments – during his spare time, he enjoys playing roller hockey and plays at International level in Keeper position and will soon be travelling to China to play for England! Charlie is clearly ‘one to watch’.
