The West Region National Housing Building Council’s (NHBC) award ceremony took place on 27th September at International Convention Centre in Birmingham and we are thrilled to announce that our Midlands region branches of SM Roofing, Cannock and Worcester were the roofing services provider on 6 of the 13 sites that saw the associated Site Manager secure a coveted Seal of Excellence award.
We are also pleased to announce that Avonside Group was the roofing service provider on 2 out of the 3 projects associated with the 3 Site Manager West Regional Winners, who will go on to compete in the Supreme Awards in January 2020.
The NHBC Pride in the Job awards presents prestigious and well-deserved accolades to celebrate the commitment of skilled site managers, who create homes of exceptional quality.
Most Site Managers will agree that, in order to achieve an outstanding final result, it takes all the different professionals involved in a property development, from roofers and bricklayers to plumbers and joiners, to deliver the highest standards across the board, all under the proficient coordination of a talented Site Manager. That’s why Avonside Group is exceptionally proud of our teams for playing a part in 6 Seal of Excellence projects, under the leadership of such dedicated Site Managers.
Around 16,000 Site Managers entered the 39th NHBC Pride in the Job awards in 2019 and, of those 16,000, 450 Quality Award winners were hand-picked for their high standards on-site, following a year of rigorous judging. The awards are separated into 10 geographical locations, encompassing the whole of the UK. The West Region had 40 Quality Awards issued to accomplished Site Managers. Our three Avonside Midlands branches all played key contributing roles as part of the site teams on 12 of these 40 developments that saw the associated Site Managers secure an NHBC Quality Award in what is referred to as the First Round of the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
Those 450 Quality Award winners then progressed from the First Round to the Regional Round. The Regional Round continued to operate under the same division of 10 geographical locations. For each region, 13 Site Managers were selected to achieve a Seal of Excellence award. The Regional Round also saw the 13 Seal of Excellence award winners compete for 3 Regional Winner awards, one for the Small Builder category, one for the Medium Builder category and one for the Large Builder category.
Avonside would like to congratulate all Seal of Excellence award winners across all regions, as it is a brilliant accomplishment to get this far in the tough competition. We would especially like to extend our congratulations to Spencer Edwards of Cameron Homes Ltd, who was the West Regional Winner in the Medium Builder category for the Aylesbury Park site in Solihull [pictured above, CGI credit: White Crow] and to Paul Moore of David Wilson Homes Mercia, who was the West Regional Winner in the Large Builder category for the Hallam Park site in Lichfield [pictured below, image courtesy of David Wilson Homes] as Avonside provided roofing services on both these well-managed projects.
Our Midlands Area Director Adam Pearson said:
“I am hugely proud that Avonside has been able to provide the level of quality and support to assist these Site Managers in showcasing their abilities.
“I personally wish Paul Moore and Spencer Edwards every success in their quest to achieve a win in the Supreme Winner final round of this competition.”
Spencer and Paul will now compete against other Regional Winners for the Supreme UK Site award for their category at the Supreme Awards, which will be announced in London in January 2020. Best of luck to them!
