We’re pleased to report that our Taylor Roofing branch has been awarded the Customer Care Contractor of the Year 2020 award by their client Davidsons Homes.
The announcement was made at Davidsons Homes’ virtual awards ceremony in February, which took the place of their usual annual awards charity presentation event due to the pandemic.
Speaking after the awards had been announced Davidsons Homes’ Operations Director Jason Glover said: “Whilst this year we are unable to hold our annual awards charity presentation evening, we very much wanted to continue with the awards and, in particular, recognise and thank those members of staff, contractors, suppliers and consultants that have gone over and above in 2020 and, as a result, earnt the just recognition that they very much deserve.
“On behalf of the whole of Davidsons, I would offer my congratulations on their well-deserved success.”
Jason also noted that one of the usual highlights of the annual awards evening, and what initially inspired the start of the awards event, was the opportunity to raise much-needed funds for charity. Despite the awards not being able to take place in person, Jason was proud to report that Davidsons Homes have donated £10,000 to the Glenfield Cardiology Unit which once again will be matched by the David Wilson Foundation, meaning a total of £20,000 will be given to the Unit.
Taylor Roofing has enjoyed a long-lasting relationship with Davidsons Homes, having worked for them for over 15 years. Over this period Taylor Roofing has mirrored the housebuilder as it has grown as a business, expanding and developing in reputation themselves.
“We have always prided ourselves on having very few customer care defects, which is partly down to the quality labour force we have as a business.
“At Taylor Roofing, we see the key to the customer care work being communication with the end-user. Every time we attend to an issue, we try to resolve it then and there, even if it’s not actually our responsibility to resolve it if we can sort it, we will. This approach successfully reduces return visits and customer disruption.
“We have worked particularly closely with Davidsons over the years and are always happy to jump in and help out. The customer care service only works due to the experienced nature of the operatives we have available to us and it is mostly down to them why we have won this Customer Care award.”
Indeed, it was Taylor Roofing’s well-known reputation for quality and reliable service in the East Midlands area that prompted Avonside Group to consider acquiring the trusted business.
Simon added: “Since joining the Avonside Group in 2018, we have further grown as a business and have been provided with more resources to actively improve our service and capacity. Something as simple as a dedicated Customer Care team van and an iPad for the operatives is something that helps the day-to-day running of our dedicated maintenance team.”
As he concluded his feelings on winning the award, he vowed to maintain the high-quality of Customer Care Taylor Roofing have come to be known for.
“In 2017, Davidsons held their first subcontractor awards evening, and we were the first subcontractor to win it. Now we have been awarded the Customer Care award for 2020. This is a great achievement for the team here at Taylor Roofing and our customers. Acknowledging all the hard work with the awards means a lot.
“As we continue to grow in reputation for first-class Customer Care our site maintenance work will inevitably increase and it is down to all of us at Taylor Roofing to continue to meet the high standards we have set for ourselves.”
