Avonside Roofing’s Biggleswade branch are delighted to have carried out roof tiling, slating and leadwork on Kier Living Eastern’s Oakthrope site, Zone B in Peterborough, a site which was awarded a Seal of Excellence at the 2020 NHBC Pride in the Job East Regional Awards.
The branch was tasked with providing and installing new roof coverings for Kier Living Eastern’s new residential development, which comprises a variety of semidetached and detached private and social housing new-build properties, ranging from one-and two-bedroom apartments to impressive three-and four-bedroom houses.
The £328,000 project saw roofing works begin in August 2019, with the entire project due to be completed in 2021. Works were completed on time and within budget, with the high-quality workmanship and materials resulting in zero defects so far. Meanwhile, regular Toolbox talks and stringent site checks helped manage health and safety on site.
The National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job competition is the only UK-wide contest dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding.
From the 11,000 eligible sites, there are around 140-150 Seals of Excellence awarded, and when the Oakthorpe Site Manager Max Perrin of Kier Living Eastern, was awarded a prestigious Seal of Excellence his outstanding standards on site and the quality of construction he managed were recognised. Meanwhile, the award also credited the commitment to excellence that the site team and sub-contractors Kier Living Eastern worked with had throughout the project.
Speaking about the project and award win Avonside Biggleswade Branch Manager, Simon Wilson said:
“To me, personally, the Seal of Excellence award reflects the high-quality work that we at Avonside Group can deliver working in partnership with Developers. It reflects a lot of hard work put in by all the Management team in regards to improving quality, health and safety and great value for money.”
