The Opportunity

Avonside Energy Limited is part of the Avonside Group – the UK’s largest service provider primarily to the new build housing sector. Alongside our Energy and Renewables divisions, we have Roofing and Plumbing divisions, employing over 400 people across almost 40 different sites across the UK.

We are in a really exciting stage of our growth and development with a strong pipeline of work, ambitious growth plans, and the rollout of a new Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) called NetSuite across the rest of the group to allow us to more efficiently and effectively manage our finance, procurement, and operations functions.

To support us in driving our Energy business forward, we are looking for a Management Accountant to join our established branch in Rearsby. You will be joining a fantastic team supporting them whilst their current accountant is on maternity leave.

Role and Responsibilites

The role will cover a broad variety of tasks including:

  • supporting the production of the Group’s consolidated monthly management accounts,
  • assisting in the preparation of the central function’s management accounts,
  • preparing the consolidated/central management information as required,
  • carring out monthly analysis and reconciliation of control accounts and balance sheet reconciliations including Intercompany,
  • supporting the production of budgets and forecasts,
  • assisting with the Group’s annual audit,
  • providing support for the ERP implementation project,
  • assisting with the implementation of new finance policies and controls within the Group,
  • helping to improve finance processes both centrally and across the Group,
  • maintaining the Group’s fixed asset register.

What You Bring

  • Our ideal candidate will be a finalist/newly qualified (CIMA/ACCA) management accountant with at least 3 years of experience within a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite would be an advantage but is not essential)
  • Business partnering and continuous improvement approach
  • Excellent IT skills, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
