Avonside Group are delighted to be recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join our roofing division in Aberdeen.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for site health and safety, including ensuring with compliance and legislation, conducting toolbox talks and conducting periodic vehicle checks and reporting any defects.

  • Recruiting and managing sub-contract labour to match current and future business levels
  • Provide an onsite liaison point between the client and the Company
  • Conduct comprehensive inductions for new starters to site
  • Ensure appropriate training is provided to all colleagues and subcontracts as necessary
  • Designate, collect, monitor and sign off all contract management reports
  • Complete and submit all contract management report forms within deadlines
  • Maintain adequate stock levels at branch and on-site, ensuring management of stock levels is appropriate to business requirements
  • Control materials, labour and transport costs effectively
  • Conduct physical counts on-site to produce appropriate reports
  • Obtain signed invoices and completion certificates from site managers
  • Carry out monthly site plot checks accurately and submit them within adequate timescales
  • Carry out roof quality checks to produce appropriate reports
  • Obtain completed and signed customer feedback forms from site managers as requested
  • Obtain completed and signed vehicle allocation and de-allocation forms when drivers and vehicles change
  • Manage the annual leave process ensuring appropriate staff levels
  • Feedback of site information and programmes to the Branch Manager to enable accurate order book forecasting
  • Collect, monitor and sign off all wages and subcontractor payment calculations
  • Calculate and submit wage and subcontract payment information within timescales
  • Set budget for each site and monitor performance against budget throughout
  • Control materials, labour and transport costs efficiently
  • Maintain productive relationships with customers to develop opportunities for follow-up business/aftersales opportunities
  • Pass all potential opportunities through to the branch management team for action
  • Ensure all onsite customer care activities including tenant liaison are carried out to the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Deal promptly with customer complaints
  • Ensure all works are handed over to the client in a structured manner

What You Bring

  • CSCS card
  • Relevant Health and Safety Qualification
  • Site Management experience within roofing; experience managing subcontract labour
  • Previous experience as a contracts manager within the roofing industry is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Continuous improvement approach
