Avonside Group are delighted to be recruiting for a new Credit Controller to join our growing head office team in Heywood.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for correct daily allocation of cash received
  • Identifying and escalating any underpayments on remittance versus invoice to the relevant customer for resolution
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing and raising of sales invoices
  • Identifying and complying with customer cut off dates
  • Escalating any issues to the Branch Manager and Regional Management Accountant as necessary
  • Ensure that all sales invoices or accrued income is finalised and agreed each month with the Branch Manger
  • Communicate the sales invoice / accrued income figures to the Regional Management Accountant
  • Responsibility and ownership for the sales ledger and outstanding debt
  • Building relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment and timely resolution of queries / aged debt
  • Arranging regular reviews with relevant Branch Managers to discuss debtors ledgers; including agreeing and documenting agreed actions
  • Completion of monthly dept report
  • Submitting monthly dept report to the Regional Management Accountant
  • Review and update the branch retention sales monitor
  • Chasing all due retention and escalating where appropriate
  • Support audit activities
  • Abide by the Company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies, procedures and statutory requirements; and undertake such health and safety training as may be required
  • Participate in any mandatory/required training activities as relevant
