The Opportunity

Our Heywood office is the HQ of the Avonside Group – the UK’s largest service provider primarily to the new-build housing sector. Alongside our Roofing division we have our Energy, Renewables and Plumbing Divisions, employing over 400 people across almost 40 different sites across the UK.

We are currently implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) called NetSuite to allow us to more efficiently and effectively manage our finance, procurement and operations functions. This brings with it some changes to the way in which we will operate in our branches and our head office functions.

Following the implementation of this new system across the group, an opportunity has arisen for two Trainee Quantity Surveyors to join our team to support our Group Commercial Director and Group Director of Risk and Legal Compliance. The role involves ensuring that we are commercially compliant with our contractual arrangements and supporting in the identification, implementation and monitoring of contractual changes and price increases.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Supporting our QS team
  • Administering customer price increases
  • Supporting and tracking branch negotiations
  • Supporting escalation and resolution of overdue sales ledger debts
  • Review the terms and conditions of sales order contracts
  • Negotiating terms and conditions amendments with customers
  • Drafting term and condition amendments
  • Reviewing contract approval requests

Your Background

We are open on the background of the individual that we recruit:

  • You may have recently graduated with a relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
  • You may be a trainee Quantity Surveyor elsewhere
  • You may have spent a year in the construction industry within a construction contracting department
  • You might already work in a construction or similar organisation undertaking a similar role
